Plumbing Service Spartanburg SC | CB Smith Plumbing
Plumbers in Greenville, SC
Proudly Serving Greenville & Surrounding Areas
A leaking pipe, backed-up drain, or failed water heater can disrupt your day and cause more damage if the problem continues. You need a plumber who can find the cause, explain your options, and complete the repair without recommending work you do not need.
CB Smith Plumbing has served homes and businesses in Greenville County since 1982. We are family-owned, locally operated in the Upstate, and licensed under South Carolina Master Plumber License #M116092.
Local Plumbing Service in Greenville Since 1982
Our plumbers have worked on residential and commercial plumbing systems throughout Greenville County for more than four decades. Every plumber we send is a CB Smith employee, not a subcontractor. That keeps the work with one company from the initial diagnosis through the completed repair.
Greenville properties include plumbing systems from many different eras. Older homes may have aging drain or supply piping, while newer properties can develop problems with modern materials, fixtures, and connections. We evaluate the plumbing system itself rather than assuming the cause based on the age or location of the property.
Crawl spaces and slab foundations can also make some leaks difficult to locate. Water may travel beneath floors or behind finished surfaces before the source becomes obvious. If you notice unexplained moisture, water stains, or other signs of a hidden problem, our leak detection and repair service can help locate the source.
Residential Plumbing Services in Greenville
Our plumbers handle everyday repairs along with larger plumbing problems throughout the home. Residential services include:
- Drain cleaning for slow drains, recurring clogs, and main line backups
- Leak detection and repair for hidden or visible plumbing leaks
- Water heater service for repair, maintenance, replacement, and tankless systems
- Faucet and fixture services for leaking, damaged, or outdated fixtures
- Shower and bathtub plumbing for valves, drains, leaks, and fixture installation
We also handle other residential plumbing repairs and replacements throughout the home. If you are not sure what is causing the problem, our plumbers can inspect the system, explain what they find, and recommend the appropriate repair.
Routine Plumbing Inspections
Routine plumbing inspections can help identify leaks, corrosion, pressure problems, worn fixtures, and other developing issues before they become more disruptive.
Older plumbing systems and properties with a history of recurring problems may benefit from more frequent attention. During an inspection, we can check accessible piping, water pressure, fixtures, drains, and water heater performance for signs that service or repair may be needed.
Commercial Plumbing Services in Greenville
Plumbing problems can disrupt employees, customers, tenants, and normal business operations. CB Smith Plumbing has served commercial properties throughout the Upstate since 1982.
Our commercial services include:
- Commercial drain cleaning with mechanical clearing, hydro jetting, and camera inspection
- Commercial gas line services for repair, replacement, and equipment connections
- Commercial plumbing maintenance for routine inspections and preventive service

Plumbing for Restaurants, Retail, and Multi-Tenant Properties
Different commercial properties place different demands on their plumbing. Restaurants may deal with grease buildup and heavily used kitchen drains. Retail and office properties depend on working restrooms, fixtures, drains, and water heaters throughout the day.
Multi-tenant properties can present additional challenges when several businesses share parts of the drainage system. When needed, camera inspection can help locate a blockage and determine which section of the system is affected.
For non-emergency work, we can often schedule service around operating hours to reduce disruption to employees, customers, and tenants.
Common Plumbing Repair Needs in Greenville
Plumbing problems often show warning signs before they become more disruptive. Some symptoms worth having a plumber check include:
- Several drains slowing down at the same time
- A water bill that rises without an obvious change in usage
- Water stains, damp areas, or musty odors near plumbing
- Low water pressure throughout the property
- A water heater that leaks, makes unusual noises, or stops providing consistent hot water
- The sound of running water when fixtures are turned off
These symptoms can have several possible causes. A plumber can inspect the affected system, identify the likely source, and explain what needs to be repaired.
When a Plumbing Problem Needs Immediate Attention
Active leaks, burst pipes, and sewer backups can cause damage quickly. If water is actively escaping and you can safely reach the main shutoff, turn off the water while arranging service.
For a suspected hidden leak, our leak detection and repair service can help locate the source and determine what needs attention.
Know Where Your Main Water Shutoff Is
Homeowners and building managers should know where the main water shutoff is before a leak or broken pipe makes it necessary.
Shutoff valves can become difficult to operate after years without use. If yours is stuck, damaged, or difficult to reach, having it addressed ahead of time can make it easier to stop the flow of water during an urgent plumbing problem.
What to Expect From Our Greenville Plumbers
We keep the service process straightforward from the first visit through the completed repair:
- We listen to what you have noticed and inspect the affected plumbing.
- A licensed plumber diagnoses the problem and explains what we find.
- You receive a clear, itemized estimate before work begins.
- We complete the approved repair and test the plumbing afterward.
- We clean the work area and explain what was done.
If we notice a separate plumbing issue while working, we point it out and explain whether it needs immediate attention. You decide whether to address it now or plan for later.
Clear Estimates Before Work Begins
Plumbing costs depend on the problem, the condition of the system, and the work required to correct it. We inspect the issue first and provide an itemized estimate before beginning the approved work.
For jobs that require permits or inspections, CB Smith Plumbing coordinates those requirements as part of the work when applicable.

Make CB Smith your plumber. They are great. Unfortunately CB Smith wasn’t available on the weekend so I called another plumber. Bad mistake. After having a bad experience with the other plumber that sent my dog to the hospital, my husband called Joe with CB Smith as we had a great experience with them before. Joe has guided me through a large sewer issue. Mike Welch came over as our toilet was backing up. While not even making much money, he has been responsive to calls and texts. He has provided advice and gave us options that have really helped us save thousands by doing some things ourself. Joe sent Mike Welch over to help us. Mike was able to camera the sewer pipe and let us know exactly where it was. Going out to the street and provide us where he was running into an issue. It is now looking like it’s a water company issue. Even though Joe won’t be making much on this issue, he still says to keep him in the loop. Such an awesome person. Please give Joe, Mike and CB Smith Plumbing your business. You won’t regret it.
